Getting Started
For Homeowners
Create an account, describe your project, and we'll match you with vetted contractors in your area. You can review contractor profiles, read reviews, and request quotes — all from your dashboard.
For Contractors
Sign up and complete our verification process to start receiving leads. You'll need to provide your license information, insurance details, and portfolio of past work.
Account Management
- Update your profile: Go to Settings from your dashboard to update your name, email, or password.
- Delete your account: Visit the Account section in Settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Forgot your password? Use the "Forgot password" link on the login page to reset it via email.
Projects and Matching
- How matching works: BuildMatch uses your project details — location, scope, budget, and timeline — to find contractors who are the best fit.
- Requesting quotes: Once matched, you can request quotes from one or more contractors directly through the Platform.
- Accepting a contractor: Review proposals, compare quotes, and accept the contractor you feel most confident in.
Payments and Fees
- Homeowner fees: Creating an account and browsing contractors is free. Fees may apply when you accept a quote or make a deposit through the Platform.
- Contractor fees: Contractors may be charged lead fees or subscription fees depending on their plan. Details are provided during onboarding.
- Refunds: Refund policies vary by transaction type. Contact support for assistance with specific transactions.
Safety and Trust
- Contractor vetting: All contractors go through a verification process including license and insurance checks.
- Reviews: After a project is completed, homeowners can leave reviews to help future users make informed decisions.
- Report a concern: If you experience any issues with a contractor or project, contact us immediately.
